# Serial Dilutions

a stock solution is diluted serially by 1 in 25, then 1ml of this solution was added to 20mL of buffer solution, what is the overal dilution factor? what is the main problem with the 2nd dilution?

when we calculate dilution, we use V1C1 = V2C2 right? The thing that we need to find out if V1 correct? In the second dilution, what is the C1 that we use? is it the amount of concentration same as the first dilution or is it the dilution factor of the first dilution?

To make a 1/400 dilution of 50ml of virus suspension,
Is it correct if I add,

5ml of virus in to 4.5ml of PBS then from that 5ml add to a 4.5ml of PBS. And in the end 12.5ml from the second diltion Mmix with 37.5ml of PBS?

50g is the test portion, What is a 1 in 5 suspension, followed by a 1 in 2 dilution.
